Our seconds log slices are still charming, rustic and fully usable, but they may have more noticeable natural flaws than our standard A** quality slices.

Please measure the full width of your cake board, including any flowers or decorations that extend beyond it.
For example, if you have an 8" cake on a 10" cake board, you must select the wood slice suitable for a 10" cake.
This ensures your cake and decorations fit properly without covering the personalised engraving.
SECONDS QUALITY –
please see image for examples of our seconds quality log cake slices may have one or more of the following cosmetic imperfections:
• Areas that have been repaired with wood filler
• Additional wooden wedges inserted to fill natural gaps
• Incorrect or unwanted engraving on the reverse side
• Small sections of bark missing.
These imperfections do not affect the strength or stability of the log slice. In most cases, they can be easily concealed beneath the cake or positioned at the back, away from view.
We will always do our best to place the engraving in the best available area, away from the most visible flaws where possible. In many cases, the cake, cake board, flowers or centrepiece decorations will cover the imperfect areas once displayed.
Seconds are a great budget-friendly choice if you are happy with a more rustic finish, or if you plan to use the slice as a cake base, under decorations, or as part of a larger centrepiece design.
The personalised log slice can be used as the base structure for your own wedding cake display or table centrepiece. Add your own flowers, candles, styling pieces or decorations to create a finished look that matches your theme.
Each slice can be engraved with your chosen wording. The engraving is permanently marked into the wood, so the wording will not fade or peel off.
We reserve the right to extend the dispatch date according to our current workload and the event date provided in your personalisation details. Your item may therefore arrive later than the original estimated delivery date, but will still be scheduled to arrive in good time for your event.
During busy wedding periods, orders with earlier event dates may be prioritised to ensure all customers receive their items in time. Thank you for your understanding.
